Busy and Fun Times

We headed to California for a fun trip with Terry's family. We got there Tuesday night. We meet his parents and a brother at In-n-Out for dinner and then they came to the hotel where we talked and giggled for a little. They left and then his sister and her family came over for a little. It is so fun to be around family. We played for the next three days. Ate good food, went to movies, and have wonderful company. Terry remembered on Friday that his leave ended on Saturday so we had to hurry and say goodbye to everyone and go to the hotel and pack. That night though most of his family came over to swim. It was so fun seeing 6 of the eight grandkids swimming and having fun. Before we went we gave Payge a day. She got to get new shoes for basketball, new snow pants and jacket, her hair cut and her EARS pierced. We were waiting until she turned 8. But when you asked her what happens when you are eight, all she could tell you is that she gets her ears pierced. So after much talks between Terry and Mardi, we decided that since she is improving so much in school that we would reward her with a big day. She cried before they did it but as soon as it was time she stopped and didn't even flinch when they did it. It was so funny. She is so excited. That is all she shows people now. When we went to California that is all she told them. It is awesome!

Wonderful Day and Week

On Sunday Payge and Mardi went to see Disney on Ice: Princess'. We went with the same two girls that we saw the last Disney on Ice show. It was so fun. We had decided not to tell the girls. So on Sunday Payge and I show up and there house to go and some how we got the girls thinking that we were going shopping. They were not very excited but happy to get to go with each other. So we are driving in the car and Jordyn asks what time we will be there and what we are going to do. Then Payge decides that she needs to say something. So the whole way up they are trying to figure out what mall we are going to and what we were going to get. Well we get off the freeway and ask the girls if they are hungry and they both scream yes. So we ask them where they want to go and they both want McDonald's. So we find one and eat. Well we both realize that we have about an hour to kill so we decide to really go to the mall. It was so fun. We walked around for a little and then I said that I needed to go over to the Energy Solutions Arena and get something. Payge didn't want to go over there but I made the huge stairs a game for her and she went. So we go up to the door and give the guy tickets and neither girl has put it together that we are going to it even though there are signs everywhere, little girls in dresses, and tons of people walking around. Finally my friend tells them and they both start jumping up and down. It was so fun. They both had a great time. It was a lot colder then we both remembered but I would totally go back to the Princess show again. I think Payge liked it too.

The awesome week is because I have wonderful parents. This week they let me take Nate to their house on Monday and leave him for the whole week. It has been harder on me then on him. He is having a wonderful time and I am hating it. The reason that they took him is because I am selling Pampered Chef at the Christmas Bazaar tomorrow and can not afford to put him in the daycare here or have a friend watch him for the whole day. So they graciously let him stay there. I call about every two hours to talk to him and hear what he is doing. He is having so much fun. They went to go see horses, they went to the zoo, they played at the park and had a fun time. It is starting to really worry me that he will want to stay there and not come home. So happy and grateful to have family close and so willing to help out.

Happy Veteran's Day

Our family would like to Thank all of the Vets, MIA, POW, National Guard, Reservists, Active Duty and all of the families. We have been so blessed through out Terry's military career to know so many wonderful people. We have learned to love the country that we live in and the people that fight for it. It has been so great to see our kids learn to love the military and the country also. Thank you to everyone! You have been amazing in our lives. We love you all very much.

Report Card

Yesterday we got Payge's report card. Honestly I was a little nervous about it because of all the hard times that she has had already but she was excited to show me so we opened it. It was amazing. The grades here are numbers 4-1. 4 is the best and on down. So her card is all 4's except for a couple 3 in reading. It was so fun to see how excited she was to show and how hard she is really working. Today she came home still on cloud 9 from yesterday and read a whole story to me and Mimi. It is so fun to finally have the Payge back that I remember in Kindergarten.

Nate thinks that he needs to go to school and be gone all day. He is not so much liking the idea of staying home with mom any more. I am trying to do new things with him but it is not working out so well. Hopefully soon he will be my friend again. Love to you all and thanks for the help. Terry came home on Friday so he was only gone for 3 days, so not to bad. For a while we are back on a normal schedule but we will see how long that lasts.

Yucky week and funny times

Terry is gone this whole week. He had to go to Ft. Carson in Colorado to help out a fellow soldier and to get his packet done. (hopefully) And of course it started snowing and so the wind is blowing and if you have ever been inside a military house you know that you can hear the wind everywhere no matter what you do. So our house is so loud but the fun thing is we get to do a sleepover in mom and daddy's bed. The kids get to sleep with who ever stays home while the other one is out which is usually daddy that leaves but I love it. They each sleep on either side of me but Payge sleeps on the side I usually sleep on and Nate has to sleep on daddy's side. It is so cute. They are so funny. Today on the way home, in a blizzard and white out, they are watching Ice Age 3 and Nate yells at me that he has to go potty. I look at him and say "Do you really need to go right now?" and he shakes his head yes as he is doing the pee pee dance in his chair. So I pull over and he gets out and we are going potty, well the wind kicks up around the door and gets potty all over him and me. We were laughing so hard by the time he got back in. It was so funny. We got home safe and wet. Things are going to be fun but crazy this week.

Cox Family Breakfast

On Saturday morning in Mueller Canyon we had the Cox Family Breakfast. It's an annual thing that we've done since I was a little girl. We normally do it on conference weekend, but there was babies due, so we postponed it. Either way it was still fun to just hang out with family and laugh about the good times. Despite the cold weather, we all stayed for a couple of hours. Hot chocolate always helps. The funnest thing about the day was how all the grandkiddies just ran around and played together. No one asked them too, they just did.
Here's all the girls!!

Paygee, Naters and Bampa playing in the creek.

Our Field Trip

Yesterday was Payge's field trip to the fire house. We had so much fun. Our little family of four went also. Terry and I were the leaders of the line on the way. Payge thought that was so cool. Nate even loved it. He got his own little bag of fun things from them. It was so fun to have a wonderful afternoon at the fire house. Today the fire trucks came to the school and showed them all how the fire hoses worked. Payge said that it was neat to see. She got super spoiled though last year when we went to go see my cousin and ride in his fire truck and squirt the hose. So she thought that it was pretty uncool of them to not let her squirt the hose. It is so funny how kids think. She is finally starting to get the hang of school though which is good. She is doing really good in spelling. Still not loving reading but hopefully that will come later in school when it gets a little easier. So thank you all for the prayers and concerns. You are all wonderful. We are very appreciative to each of you and we love you all much!!

Baseball

For those of you who know my family, Terry is really into baseball and before I got married I only went to it because we had to go to cheer them on. I don't understand it and it takes a long time but I am slowly learning it and liking it more. My kids are in love with it. They both are really good at it. Payge can hit the ball when Terry throws it at her and Nate is learning. He really likes to hit it off the tee. So on Thursday, Terry's team (he is the asst. coach to the high school baseball team) had batting practice so the kids really wanted to go and show me what they can do. It was the funniest and craziest time. They would hit the ball into this net thing. Sometimes they would miss but most of the time they hit it. It was so fun to see them doing good and having fun together.
